Lake Cuyamaca, San Diego County, USA. Feb, 24, 2024

A mountain workshop, learning about and foraging for local clays.

Event runs 3 hours, some minimal walking, through relaxed terrain. Notebooks, as well as snacks/water is recommended. Clay is plentiful in this area so upon reapproval from park rangers, bring a small collection container.

Lecture covers the essentials of locating clays in your natural environment, steps for processing clays for use in ceramics, and methods of testing- all informed by indigenous knowledge, the Kumeyaay nation specifically.

Meeting information sent to attendees 1 week prior to the event.

11am-2pm.
